It’s not just bits of clay; it’s tile from The Floor Store & Cabinet Shop

We are not afraid to tell people that Warner Robins is a great place to live. In fact, in 2019, our town was awarded the title of "Official Best Family Fun Destination in Georgia." A big part of that is the presence of our Air Force Museum, which brings to life a lot of history when it comes to aviation. And after visiting one of our museums, you may be thinking of ways to add some history to your home. Consider tile flooring.

An ancient floor

Think about the appeal of flooring made from stone, porcelain, and ceramic. Stone is made by the earth and has been around for thousands of years. It is cut and polished into a useable form, then it is installed on your floors. Stone tile flooring is made from marble, granite, slate, limestone, and sandstone, and in each case, it will provide you with a beautiful floor that will last for several lifetimes.

Porcelain and ceramic tile are essentially the same floor with origins in different parts of the world. Porcelain was created in ancient China and ceramic in ancient Egypt. In both cases, clay was powdered and fired in a furnace to create objects for use. The main difference between the two is that porcelain is made from a more finely powdered clay. Each product is glazed to give it excellent resistance to scuffing and scratching, and they will each serve you well for the lifespan of your home.

Not just for floors

Let us not stop with flooring. This material also makes excellent countertops, walls, and backsplashes. Also, when considering vertical surfaces, you have the option of glass tile. This translucent material adds a unique touch to any wall to which they are added.

A customizable floor

More so than any other flooring, tile floors are customizable. There are trim pieces, border pieces, and insets designed to help you make your living space as unique as your imagination permits. You might consider a border run around the room with the center installed at a 45-degree angle. You might have an initial or a design inset into the floor. The same is true when it comes to the tile you would have on your walls. Additionally, any design idea that you install on a floor can be applied to the walls.
